Dr. Norbert Struck advises domestic and foreign clients in patent matters in all physical and engineering fields as well as in design and trademark matters. His main practice areas are litigation on the one hand and the drafting of patent applications on the other hand, which he prosecutes until grant. In his practice, out-of-court solutions often bring more benefit to the client than long and costly court proceedings. One of Norbert’s particular strengths is his precise thinking through of technical and legal issues, which enables him to achieve optimal results in patent examination proceedings, opposition and nullity proceedings, and patent infringement cases.

“Even after 30 years of professional experience, I still enjoy being able to help clients in difficult cases by finding original solutions.“
Norbert Struck

Dr. Norbert Struck was born in Bonn in 1960, studied physics at the RWTH Aachen University and obtained his doctorate in the field of physical chemistry under Prof. Richter until 1991 on relaxation phenomena in molten salts.

After his training in intellectual property law at the Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich, Norbert passed the German patent attorney examination in 1994.

He was admitted as a representative for the European Patent Office and for the European Union Intellectual Property Office in 1996.

In 1999, he left Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH to become a partner at GILLE HRABAL.

Norbert has been very successful in worldwide patent infringement disputes in various fields, regularly represents market-dominating companies and has, inter alia, on several occasions assumed primary responsibility for representation before the German Federal Supreme Court in nullity appeal proceedings.

He is married and has three children.
